Marjory O'Brien Phillips collection 1932-1981.

This collection contains the minutes of the North Boulder Club, Boulder, Colorado, from the club's inception in 1936 to 1981. Obituaries of some of the members of the club have been included in the minute book. Mrs. Phillips' mother, Sadie O'Brien, was a charter member. Also included in this collection are newspaper clippings, pamphlets and programs of activities taking place at the State Preparatory School, Boulder, 1932-1935, and at the University of Colorado, Boulder, 1935-1939. Those were the dates of Mrs. Phillips' attendance at the two institutions.

The North Boulder Club was established as a social club in 1936. Women of the First Christian Church of Boulder belonged to either "North Boulder Club" or "South Boulder Club", both of which functioned as church auxiliary groups. Fred Hellems, who compiled the two-page list of admission and graduation requirements of U.S. universities, was a Canadian who came to the University of Colorado as a Latin professor in 1898.
